App
If you successfully complete the MTN mobile app download,
you will be able to perform the following transactions from your phone:

- Check your account profile
- Check your recent account recharges
- Subscribe for MTN internet bundle/MTN data plan
- Subscribe to MTN callertunez, music and games on MTN Play
- Check available balance and expiry data of your BlackBerry/Fastlink/mobile internet/Simple Surf data plan
- Perform a SIM Swap on your lost/stolen MTN line
- Purchase airtime or pay your phone bills using your Interswitch ATM card
- Retrieve your PUK code to unlock your SIM
- Request for MTN Data Settings to manually connect to the internet
How To download the MTN Mobile Self Care
App
There are three methods by which you can
download the MTN self service app.
Method 1

Send "CARE"
to 5018. The SMS is free. MTN
network will send a link to download the app via an SMS to your mobile phone.
Method 2
·
You can visit the MTN Play wap
portal at wap.mtnonlineplay.com to download the app
Method 3
·
You can also call the MTN Customer
Care on 180 or visit any MTN Walk-in center for them to send the app link to
your phone.
If you are an iPhone and
android devices user, the MTN self-care app can work on your phone. It also works
on all low-end phones that support J2ME.
For android and iphone users, you need a memory size of 1.5MB to
download MTN self service app and while J2ME operating handsets require 150KB of memory size.

There must be an improvement on the application, REASON: Any subscriber should be able to check the actual DATA BALANCE of each subscription instead of FAIR USAGE usually received by MTN.
